“It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance”
Henry James
Welcome to
Sarah-’N’-Dipity Art Studio
Sarah calls her studio Sarah-’N-Dipity because, first of all, it s obviously a word play on her
name, but most importantly, it reflects the way in which she paints. Even when she has a pre-
conceived plan as to what she wants to paint, serendipity often takes over. Painting becomes
an intuitive process for me, she says, as there is no way that I could conger the resulting
outcome. It just happens. As the art critic Ruskin said, it becomes “the expression of one soul
talking to another.”

Artist Profile
Born in Salisbury, NC, I lived there the first 21 years of my life then moved to Nashville, TN, to attend graduate school. I have lived in various places since then. Different job positions took me to Bowling Green, KY, Switzerland, Richmond, VA, Atlanta, GA, Phoenix, AZ, and Los Angeles, CA. I first began studying art when I moved to Los Angeles and pursued that interest for the twenty years that I lived there. Upon retirement from business, my husband and I made the decision to settle in Cary, NC. I have traveled extensively in Europe and the Orient, and I find much of my inspiration from these travels.
